Weems and Meredith Holmes will share their work. Both are in the new collection AWAKE AT THE END: A POET LAUREATE COLLECTION from Bottom Dog Press and the Heights Arts organization.The book’s editor John Panza will also read, followed by an open-mic session. The events are sponsored by The Firelands Writing Center and Bottom Dog Press.

LOCAL AUTHORS CELEBRATED IN AREA BOOK SIGNING

            The Independent Midwest Publishers’ and Authors’ Consortium joins The Firelands Writing Center, Drinian Press and Bottom Dog Press in celebrating National Small Press Month this March. A local authors book signing will take place at Borders Books in Sandusky Mall on March 21, 1-3 pm.

            Publishers Bottom Dog Press, Bird Dog Publishing, Drinian Press, and Cambric Press will be represented. Authors include: Joel Rudinger author of Sedna Goddess of the Sea, fiction author Rob Smith for Night Voices, McCowan’s Call, and his nonfiction Hogwarts, Narnia, and Middle Earth, poet and fiction author Larry Smith for A River Remains: Poems and Faces and Voices: Tales. Poet and playwright Ronald Ruble will have his book of poetry The Pulse of Life, all of whom teach at BGSU Firelands College. 

            Also represented will be authors Wilma Daugherty, formerly of Huron Schools, and the author of Fragments: Stories of Another Time, novelist Susan Petrone whose A Body at Rest has just been released from Drinian Press, and William (Bill) Wright, whose book A Life in Poems appeared last year from Bird Dog Publishing. Ann Smith, co-editor of Family Matters and Come Together: Imagine Peace will sign copies of those titles.
