SANDUSKY, OH – Art & Culture :: Free Admission to the Jammin’ Equinox

March 15, 2010

Mark Your Calendars – Come Celebrate the Fact That Winter Will Be Officially Over!

This Saturday, March 20, regionally-renowned musical ensemble, Phantasmagoria, will be headlining the first annual Jammin’ Equinox at Lyman Harbor, 1615 First Street, Sandusky, Ohio. The Kaleidoscope, Brighter is also scheduled to perform along with DJ What the Bleep, spinning a live vinyl set of ragga jungle music – a perfect combination for dancing up a storm. Each of the acts have an all-ages appeal, so even if you aren’t interested in the Lyman Pub’s drink specials, you will still thoroughly enjoy some of the most elated sounds your ears have ever heard! Doors will open at 8pm, admission is free with music starting at 9pm. After 10pm, 18 and older only unless accompanied by a parent.

March 20 marks the time of year when vernal equinox occurs. The days on which an equinox falls have about equal periods of sunlight and darkness, with the sun directly above the earth’s equator. This happens twice a year; once to mark the beginning of spring and again for the beginning of autumn on September 22.

Listen to the “On the Wire” podcast for clips of DJ What the Bleep interviewing members of Phantasmagoria on his show, Electronic Enlightenment Live, which airs on Bowling Green State University’s student-run radio station, 88.1 WBGU-FM, every Friday night at midnight.

(Note: this is a long recording, and will take a minute to load: please be patient. Also, some recordings do not play well on built-in computer speakers; and would require headphones or a strong set of speakers attached to your computer.)
