This weekend, The Erie Wire visited the Barking Spider Tavern near Case Western University to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of local book publisher, Bottom Dog Press. Headquartered in Huron, Ohio, and in Bellingham, Washington, Bottom Dog Press was founded on the belief that a sense of place and person in writing reveals through its directness an essential human story, Bottom Dog Press supports the history and development of Working Class Literature, providing outlets for this cultural tradition as a vital art.

In order to commemorate the anniversary, they published the Bottom Dog Press Poetry Anthology, which features a collection of poems by regional writers. Listen to our podcast to hear several of the poets perform selections from the book.

(Note: this is a long recording, and will take a minute to load: please be patient. Also, some recordings do not play well on built-in computer speakers; and would require headphones or a strong set of speakers attached to your computer.)
